Q: What shipping options are available?

Ground (sometimes free), 3 day, 2nd day air, Overnight, Early AM, and Saturday.

Q: Do you ship outside the USA?

Yes we do, send us an email with the items you would like to order and we will get a quote together for you.

Q: Schedule

Check your items/invoice for estimated ship schedule, many items in stock, many items kitted to order, some made to order and some are completely custom.

Shipped orders take 3 to 5 days for standard shipping depending on your location.

Expedited shipping is available on many items.

We support our Customers and Racers!  Critical parts are in stock and are available for Over night and Saturday Delivery when ordered by 4PM PST.

Q: Shipping

We email you a tracking number within 24 hours of your order shipping out, so you can easily track your package(s) from the us to your door.

 

A tracking number will not be available until your item ships.  See schedule above.

Items are shipped from us are via FedEx some shipments directly from the manufacturer are via UPS

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other U.S. Territories

We ship orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other U.S. Territories. For these orders, simply proceed through checkout as usual. When available, you will receive a shipping cost at checkout.

**Please Note: When we are able to ship orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other U.S. Territories, they will require extra time for delivery and will be charged additional shipping fees. These orders are not eligible for Free Shipping offers.

Q: Signature Requirement

For your protection and ours, we ship almost all packages with a signature required for delivery. If you specifically want us NOT to require a signature for delivery, please make a notation in the "Order Comments" field you see on the order form.   In some cases we will not honor a signature not required and will request other arrangements be made,such as hold at depot or secure delivery location.

PLEASE NOTE: Any insurance claims for damaged items and/or stolen goods from your doorstep that are NOT honored by the shipping carrier because you requested a signature not be required for delivery is NOT our responsibility. We will not cover the cost!

Q: Separate Shipping and Billing Addresses

In order to ensure the validity of each order, we will contact you if your billing and shipping address on the invoice does not match. In certain instances, we may require a copy of the card holders identification and credit card for further validation, and some may require a signed statement by the card holder. Your items will not be shipped if the cardholder cannot be reached, and any additional expedited shipping costs will be the responsibility of the receiver due to the delay. Please include a phone number that the cardholder can be reached to ensure quick processing and delivery times. If you have any concerns regarding this, please feel free to contact us.

Q: Claims for Shortages/ Incorrect Parts

Please check invoice for all parts ordered. All claims and shortages must be made within 5 days. Please have your invoice number available.

Q: Damaged or Lost Items

If a part is lost (box broken open) or damaged in transit to you, please notify the carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.). Delivery is the responsibility of the carrier. Do not return any damaged part to us.  File a damage report with the delivering carrier.  We suggest if possible digital photos should also be taken to further support any claims. All shipments are insured for their full value when they leave The Supercharger Store.

 

Immediately after receiving you order open and inspect your item for any signs of “Concealed Damage”. In the event that you encounter any damage contact the carrier immediately to report the damage. The Carrier should be contacted no later than 48 hrs after receipt of the shipment. You will need to retain your copy of the delivery receipt as well as all of the original packaging materials for proper claim documentation. If possible digital photos should also be taken to further support any claims.  Please contact us if you have had to make a claim with the carrier and provide us with the exact shipment information so we can be prepared to assist in expediting the resolution, as the carrier will contact us.

 

Q: Returns

All merchandise is in good condition when it leaves our facility. All sales at The Supercharger Store are considered final and returns for any reason must obtain a return merchandise authorization number in writing from The Supercharger Store before any products are sent back and it must be marked on the outside of the package. Unauthorized and COD returns will be refused. All returns are subject to a minumin 20% restocking fee for unopened items, others are case by case basis.   You have 30 days to return items which have not been installed or used. When shipping an item to The Supercharger Store, all shipping must be well packed, prepaid and all items must be insured by the customer. Due to the nature of Electrical items, we do not accept them for return. Custom made products, products with custom options or products that have been modified as requested by the customer are not returnable. Original shipping and handling charges are not refundable. It is the intention of The Supercharger Store to make the customer satisfied and we understand that extenuating circumstances may arise making your return ineligible per our policy, please contact us.


FAQ

Q: Why centrifugal supercharger?

It’s simple; higher efficiency, more power, and less heat. Due to the design of centrifugal compressors the airflow and air pressure are more efficiently managed, allowing the compressors to produce greater power and significantly lower charge air temperatures. Positive-displacement blowers deliver a nearly fixed volume of air per revolution at all RPMs, whereas the centrifugal works to optimize a much wider operating range for your vehicle. At higher boost levels, centrifugal superchargers remain 70-80% efficient, while positive-displacement blowers are less efficient to begin with and efficiency further declines as pressure increases.

Q: Why a Centrifugal not a Turbo?

Centrifugal Superchargers and Turbos compress the intake air with the same method, but that is where the similarities end. Centrifugals are directly driven by engine RPM and produce linear power increase over the entire RPM range, where a turbo must have significant engine RPM to compress the intake air and start adding power. There is heat transferred to the compressed intake air in a turbo from the exhaust air used to drive the turbo where centrifugals only have the heat from compressing the intake air. Centrifugal Superchargers are and easy do it yourself bolt on setup, no new exhaust, custom fitting, and welding like is found in doing a turbo setup.

Q: Why buy for The Supercharger Store?

We specialize in centrifugal supercharger and only centrifugal superchargers from the beginning in 2003, we will get you the best value. Our full system kits contain everything that is needed and if something is not included is clearly described. Many sell install kits, but leave it to the customer to figure out what else is needed to have a vehicle that runs. If you want to do some different or special we can supply you with the components that we have access to.

Q: Will one of your Supercharger system fit under my stock hood?

In most cases all cases YES, but there are factors to consider on the classic kits like size of Carb-hat and height of intake Manifold.

Q: What is a Gear Drive or Crank Drive?

A Gear Drive or Crank Drive is a drive setup that goes on the front of the engine crankshaft and has a step up gear set to drive the Supercharger input shaft. It replaces the belt that is used to drive a supercharger. The gear sets are quick change so the speed of the supercharger to the engine can be easily changed. The Supercharger store invented the Gear Drive to run centrifugal superchargers. Similar to time gear sets to replace timing chains these are typically used for race applications.

Q: What Centrifugal Superchargers can be driven by a Gear Drive?

Procharger F-1 through F-3 series and Vortech V-27 & V-30 Series

Q: What is the largest step up ratio in a gear drive?

The Supercharger Store makes a 2.15:1 step up ratio.

Q: Do I need to modify my powertrain before installing a Supercharger system?

It depends if you are doing a basic system and drive in a moderate fashion then no, but it will be putting more strain on driveline components. If you are adding more than 20% more power and/or are very heavy footed at all times then YES!

Q: Parts Warranty

Most individual parts come with a 30 day warranty. Parts under warranty can be sent out with a core charge of the full amount, refund of the charges will not be made unit original parts are returned.

Q: To Obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization Number

To obtain a return merchandise authorization number, please call or write us. You must do this within 30 days and have your invoice number available.

Q: Product Warranties

The Supercharger Store honors all manufacturer warranties.  Any product that carries a manufacturer warranty must be warrantied through its respective manufacturer.  Installed components which have failed, such as superchargers and fuel components etc.must be removed/shipped back to its manufacturer for inspection before replacement.  The Supercharger Store is not responsible for shipping products to manufacturers for inspection or the return shipping to the end user.  Labor time is not paid by The Supercharger Store. Manufacturers will only pay labor if stated in the manufacturer’s warranty. Purchased products are available for warranty not return credit.  All products manufactured by The Supercharger Store carry a one year manufacturer defect warranty.

Making the Switch to the ultimate Power Adder

Q: Switching from Nitrous to a ProCharger

FROM NITROUS (N2O) TO PROCHARGER

Thankfully, moving from a Nitrous (N2O) combo to a ProCharger is usually a fast swap and easier on the budget than others, since powertrain components can stay the same, including costly items like the exhaust system. Sometimes, even the rods/pistons can stay if the compression ratio is boost-friendly.

Compression Ratio most likely will needs changing  –  If the N2O motor was less than 13:1 static compression, chances are you will be okay to run them with the ProCharger, as long as you are running race gas or methanol in your race program. This also depends on your camshaft and engine builder/tuner’s preference. The less compression, the easier it will be to dial in your tune-up. It also opens the window to run other fuels such as E85, etc. 

Camshaft most likely will needs changing – Normally, a N2O motor camshaft is too aggressive for a boosted motor. Since they usually run a low “LSA” and high “Overlap”, it can lead to the boost pressure being blown right out the tailpipes. This would cause the blower to work harder than it needs to in order to create a good boost pressure. However, those running a non-aggressive camshaft may still run the same cam.

TQ Converter reused to get started, probably changed later  – The stall converter, or TQ converter, in an N2O car is usually a little too loose on the starting line for a boosted motor, and then too tight in the upper RPMs. However, you are able to run your current converter to get you started, get a baseline tune-up done, and make some test hits. Once you are ready, you will want to have your converter sent back to the manufacturer to get dialed in for use with a ProCharger, so the power and torque curve align more optimally. 

Intake Manifold reused to get started, probably changed later  – Lots of folks retain their intake manifolds and just block off the ports to their fogger nozzles, or remove the “plate” systems from their intakes. If running a blow-through carburetor, it will likely bolt onto the same intake. If running EFI, adaptor elbows are readily avilable to convert to a single throttle blade. Again, that’s going to be the tuner or engine builder’s preference.

Exhaust System can stay the same – Chances are the exhaust can stay the same, though folks do experiment with swapping from “zoomies” to “bull horns” and vice versa.

If an engine is a stock or “mild build,” chances are many things can stay the same. On the other hand, an engine that has been built for high-end or MAX effort heads-up drag racing, many items will need to be addressed/changed. That’s what the following talks about:

Compression Ratio most likely will need changing – In max effort, N/A builds the compression ratio if run on race fuels is usually too high for a forced induction engine. Most will have their piston manufacturer build them a set of pistons designed for forced induction to lower the compression, and still retain good quench areas, flame travel, and proper ring lands/rings for boost and higher HP levels.

Camshaft most likely will need changing – Normally, a max effort N/A engine will run fairly extreme amounts of overlap in their camshafts, which can lead to the boost from the ProCharger quite literally being blown right out the tailpipe. Ideally, when making the switch, a proper camshaft would be slid into the engine that is designed with forced induction in mind. This leads to better “boost” numbers, keeps the supercharger from working overtime, and results in higher HP levels.

Converter most likely will need changing – With all the epic amounts of horsepower coming from the addition of the ProCharger, chances are the torque converter will be far too loose. While it might seem to work at first, most customers would see elevated stall rpm’s as well as high slip numbers at wide open throttle. It’s best to have the torque converter changed to work correctly with the new power level, as well as the power curve of the ProCharger.

Intake Manifold reused to get started, probably changed later– Many N/A intake manifolds can be reused. If swapping from a carburetor to efi, fuel rails can be added. Or, if still maintaining a carb and going “blow-through,” a simple “hat” can be used to direct boost pressure through the carburetor. If the intake was matched to your heads and they are being retained, chances are your intake manifold will be retained as well.

Exhaust System can stay the same – Most of the time the exhaust system will work perfectly with the ProCharger, unless it is undersized for the power level once supercharged. Speak with your header manufacturer about what they suggest for your power level.

 

Q: Switching from Turbo to ProCharger

FROM TURBO(S) TO PROCHARGER

Since these engines are already set up to run forced induction, many items can remain the same. Other elements, like the exhaust system, will 100% have to change. The following recommendations reflect the most popular turbo-to-ProCharger swaps in the last few years. It is important to note that even though a ProCharger combo might show less power on the dyno, racers have commonly run their fastest passes or won more races once swapping to a ProCharger system. Again, this is due to the consistency and reliability of the ProCharger supercharger units. 

Exhaust System will need to be changed – Since the exhaust system was once powering turbine wheel(s), there’s no way around the fact that the headers and exhaust system will now have to change. This doesn’t have to be high-dollar, custom stuff, since many header manufacturers offer off-the-shelf items that will pair perfectly with a ProCharged engine.

Camshaft reused to get started, probably changed later – Most who choose to make the switch to ProCharger will start off with their existing camshaft, because they already have their tune-up dialed in for boost. This allows them to concentrate on dialing in other items, like converter/suspension/timing tables. Down the road, it would be ideal to have your engine builder/cam manufacturer spec out a camshaft for a ProCharger.

Converter reused to get started, probably changed later – Much like the camshaft, the previous TQ converter can be reused to get you started. However, one of the best “bang for the buck” moments when making the switch from turbo(s) to ProCharger is when you move to a converter that has been selected specifically for a ProCharger

Compression Ratio can stay the same – Thankfully, engines already running other forms of forced induction have been built with the proper compression ratio in mind. Meaning, the crank/rods/pistons are all forged and designed for a forced-induction “effective” compression ratio. Obviously, the compression ratio can vary greatly depending on the amount of boost desired, the fuel type being used, and the camshaft selection.

Intake Manifold can stay the same – Chances are your intake manifold will stay the same. Most of the time these units already have the proper throttle bodies, carbs, or injector placements moving from turbo(s) to a ProCharger.

 

Q: Switching from Roots blower to a ProCharger

FROM SCREW/ROOTS TO PROCHARGER

Possibly one of the quickest swaps to ProCharger comes from positive displacement superchargers. This is because many items will remain the same, such as compression ratio and exhaust systems. Let’s break down the other items below:

Intake Manifold will need to be changed  – Since positive displacement blowers are the lower intake, this is an item that will have to be replaced. We have seen some folks retain the lower intake and air-to-water intercooler, however, that is pretty rare, and a proper intake should be used.

Camshaft reused to get started, probably changed later – Many racers will keep the same camshaft to get them started, because their engine tune-up is based on the previous camshaft. A camshaft specific to a ProCharger should eventually be upgraded to dial in a max effort combo.

Converter reused to get started, probably changed later – While many will keep their converter when starting out, this should be changed as soon as possible. A converter that’s perfectly dialed in for its power adder is one of the “best bang for the buck” ways to drop E/Ts at the track.

Exhaust System can stay the same –  Chances are the exhaust system will not need to be changed if properly sized for the power level.

Compression Ratio can stay the same – Since the engine was already running boost, chances are the pistons and rods will remain the same. A ProCharger may impose a slight rise in compression, since ProChargers are known to be more efficient with cool charge air temps and don’t require ultra-low compression ratios.
